Students visited the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia

Today, students of the School of Engineering Management visited the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and, in the presence of the curator, had the opportunity to become more familiar with the National Assembly as an institution and cultural monument.

The National Assembly House was built according to the project of architect Jovan Ilkić. The foundation stone was laid by King Petar I Karađorđević in 1907, but the construction was brought to an end in 1936 with the final works on the interior entrusted to the architect Nikolay Krasnov. The building was opened on October 20, 1936 with a ceremonial session of the Senate of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia National Assembly.

Due to its exceptional historical and architectural value, as well as its rich collection of works of art, the National Assembly House was declared a cultural monument in 1984.

On this occasion, students were able to see the Great and Small Plenary Halls, the Central Hall, the Library, the Diplomatic Salon (Salon of Prince Pavle), valuable gifts and works of art, authentic furniture and interior design by Krasnov, to learn about the functioning, history and cultural significance of the parliament building.
