Engineering and Management of Strategic Security Systems

Doctoral studies play a significant role in creating a scientific youth and teacher base for the development of competence of higher education institutions. Taking into account the scientific field and the area of study, the purpose of the study program is to develop young scientists who will successfully find solutions to scientific and research topics and problems that arise in the process of managing large, complex systems such as strategic security systems. The Faculty of Engineering Management, through the realization of doctoral studies, will create personnel capable of managing strategic security systems based on science-based knowledge and methods. In relation to the development of future teaching staff, the purpose of the study program is to encourage talents in certain segments of engineering management, so that students make the right choice of postdoctoral studies, which are intended as mandatory studies for future teachers.

This study program develops science and education in the field of technical and technological sciences, industrial engineering and engineering management. Given that engineering management is in the domain of technical-technological sciences and management, an important purpose and role of the study program is to create a balance between technical-technological knowledge and knowledge from the field of management.

Goal

The goals of the study program are aligned with the vision and mission of the Faculty of Engineering Management. It strives to educate and train students to understand the theories of systems engineering and engineering management, to develop process thinking that enables them to have a holistic view of strategic security systems, as well as critical reflection and creative design of new, improved solutions. Students study and apply modern methods and techniques of research and development, in order to successfully create projects and doctoral dissertations provided for in the study program. Students develop the skill of managing strategic security systems in order to be more easily and effectively involved in scientific and research projects outside the academic environment.

Outcome

The outcome of the learning process; It is expected that students improve and deepen their general theoretical knowledge in the management of strategic security systems and the role of information technologies, as well as possess the skills and ability for methodologically correct work on solving scientific research and research problems. After successfully passing exams, completing project tasks and doctoral dissertations, students are qualified to engage in scientific and research work in the field of technical and technological sciences - industrial engineering and engineering management.
