China in Central Europe and the Black Sea Region

The George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, organised a virtual seminar China in Central Europe and the Black Sea Region on Thursday 9 September (1400-1530 CEST).

Professor PhD Katarina Strbac participated in a seminar among colleagues from Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Croatia.
The seminar’s focus was new research on the topic by Martin Vladimirov of the Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia.

The discussion was committed to questions:
• What have been the most significant aspects of your country’s Chinese economic, diplomatic, and/or communications presence?
• How do political leaders and the public view China’s involvement? How does it reinforce or complicate other policies and international relations?
