Danube Dance Alliance for Development of Contemporary Dance Scene in the Danube Region

The School of Engineering Management and the Belgrade Dance Institute will participate as partners in the realization of the European Project Danube Dance Alliance, which is supported by the European Commission.

The Project aims to improve contemporary dance in the Danube region by establishing the Danube Dance Alliance through innovative, modular and hybrid international co-productions.

As a step towards long-term cooperation and business model, the project will involve 8 transdisciplinary organizations from Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the development of an international co-production focused on contemporary dance. Essentially, the project aims to create an international alliance for the development of the contemporary dance scene in the region, promoting sustainability and encouraging international collaborations across different disciplines.

The innovative use of technology, collaborative practices and commitment to sustainable development highlight the project’s potential to make a lasting impact on the contemporary dance landscape in the Danube region and beyond.

The primary focus of the project is on the Danube region, as covered by the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, which includes both EU and non-EU countries, with the aim of improving cooperation, but also promoting cultural and other EU policies, especially the “New European Bauhaus” Initiative. In this way, the project directly contributes to the EU’s global strategy for international relations through culture, building a bridge to the candidate countries from the Western Balkans, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also to Ukraine and Moldova through the “New European Bauhaus on the Danube” network.
