Prof. Dr. Katarina Štrbac at the Annual Seminar of the BFPE Foundation
Prof. Dr. Katarina Štrbac participated as a panelist at the Annual Seminar of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence (BFPE), which was held from September 12 to 14 in Vrnjačka Banja.
This seminar, whose main topic was “Can we trust democracy again?” was the third in a series of seminars intended for the younger generation of prominent politicians, representatives of the state administration, non-governmental organizations, the media and the business sector.
Prof. Dr. Štrbac presented in the panel “Women, security and activism in crisis situations”, where the focus was on how women shape responsible communities and contribute to strengthening human security through their professional involvement, activism and personal experience. During the 90-minute panel, Prof. Dr. Štrbac dealt with the key issues of security threats that women face during various emergency situations in Serbia, as well as ways to ensure safety in public space. The panel was organized in the form of short introductory presentations, followed by a discussion with the participants of the seminar where domestic violence was also discussed, especially during emergency situations.
The annual BFPE seminar represents a one-year cycle of educational activities that gathers perspective leaders of various sectors who recognize the need for continuous learning and additional training in the field of public policies and democratic governance.
