Study programme Project Management

Study programme Project management and Industry 4.0

Study programme runs over one school year and has 60 ECTS.

The emphasis of the curriculum is on project management in engineering environments under the emerging circumstances of Industry 4.0. The electives within the curriculum provide additional guidance in the direction of working directly with the people or working on infrastructure.

The structure of the course is in line with the needs of the formation of highly qualified personnel from the point of view of their future competence. The students are first trained in the application of adequate research methodologies, and are then introduced to the complex problems of engineering processes and an enterprise organization.

The expected outcome of the learning process involves the improvement and deepening of methodological and general theoretical knowledge acquired during previous schooling, the acquisition of skills and ability to independently manage complex and major projects using information and communication technologies, guiding the students to conceptualize, design and apply the acquired knowledge based on understanding technical and technological processes as well as economic integration in the new Industry 4.0 environment.

The goals of the study program are aligned with the mission of the School of Engineering Management. The primary objective is to educate and train students in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management in Industry 4.0 to gain knowledge and ability to fully understand the management of complex business systems based on engineering principles and strategic thinking to identify technological, economic and social developments in the modern world.

In addition, the goal of the program is to enhance students' knowledge and motivate them for further education so that they can enrol in the higher education level – doctoral studies. The students need to develop a scientific-research spirit, which is especially evident in the preparation of the final – master's thesis. The aim of this study program is also to enable students to successfully apply the acquired scientific, professional and methodological knowledge in the field of project management in order to perform their jobs more efficiently, to improve their professional capacities and to further their professional development outside the academic environment.
