Prof. Dr. Katarina Štrbac at the International Conference in Sarajevo

Prof. Dr. Katarina Štrbac is participating in the Conference – Strengthening regulatory compliance and risk mitigation in the operational framework of private security companies in the Western Balkans, which is being held on February 12 and 13, 2026 in Sarajevo.

Organized by CRDF Global, in partnership with the Office of Cooperative Risk Reduction of the US Department of State, together with experienced experts from the Cyber ​​Security, Corporate Security and Management Initiative (C3I) and the Balkan Security Network (BSN), for military and security experts and representatives of organizations focused on security and governance from the Western Balkans and other partner countries, this International Conference aims to raise awareness of PMSC recruitment and open tactics, regulatory and sanctions-related risks associated with engagement with illicit actors, ways in which PMSCs exploit political, security, and information environments.  The workshop features expert-led lectures, practical exercises, case and facilitated discussions designed to build analytical capacity, improve coordination across regions, and foster sustained collaboration.
