Workshop of Creative Writing – Prof. Dr. Miomir Petrović
Creative Writing Workshop, which was led by writer and dramatist Prof. Dr. Miomir Petrovic, from 18th to 20th April, in cooperation with Dorotey and the City Library of Belgrade, which were held at the premises of the Djordje Jovanovic Library in Zmaj Jovina 1 in Belgrade, was extremely visited and very dynamic.
Working with twenty trainees, some of them without direct scripting experience, some of them published authors, it was aimed at introducing the participants with theoretical models and their practical applications in writing intended for various narrative media: novel, drama, and film scenario. The course consists of a literary-theoretical approach (which is taught at philological faculties around the world), but also from a practical (workshop) approach. At the end of the workshop, students left a library of stories or draft stories that are thematically related. Our final goal is to publish the collection of stories at the end of the year in the scope of the publishing activity of the library. The theme of this year’s workshop was Reconstruction and it included the practical work of mentors and students, debates and homework. The theme and several basic elements and characters were unique to all participants and actual, so the interest was great.
The workshop took place three days in two sessions per day, a total of 6 sessions.
