Monograph Career guidance and counseling at higher education institutions – Theory and practice
New edition of the School of Engineering Management, scientific-professional monograph Career guidance and counseling at higher education institutions – Theory and practice doc. Dr. Tatjana Ilić-Kosanović deals with the analysis of the theoretical basis of career guidance and counseling and its applicability in higher education institutions in Serbia, as well as the analysis of the application of theoretical concepts of career development and career guidance and counseling within career centers at the best higher education institutions in the world in the United States and the United Kingdom, where this concept originated and developed over several decades. It was created on the basis of many years of research, which resulted in a doctoral thesis, defended in 2014. In the meantime, further directions of the development of the theory and practice of career guidance and counseling at higher education institutions until the end of 2019 have been researched.
At the end of the monograph, based on the performed analysis, recommendations were given for the improvement of the system of work of higher education centers for career development in Serbia.
This monograph can be useful to employees of higher education institutions, which are building career development centers in order to strengthen the employability of students for a better understanding of the theory and practice of career guidance and counseling at higher education institutions. It can be important for counselors and professors at other institutions, such as high schools, in order to build high school centers for career development in schools of different types (high schools, secondary vocational schools).
