School of Engineering Management as a Partner of the D. Dance Alliance Project Supported by the European Commission

In Trbovlje, the first meeting of the European project 𝐃.𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 was held, in which the Dean Prof. Dr. Vladimir Tomašević and Vice-Dean Prof. Dr. Snežana Arnautović Stjepanović are participating, supported by the European Commission, within which the School of Engineering Management and the Belgrade Dance Institute are partners.

The project aims to improve contemporary dance in the Danube region by establishing the Danube Dance Alliance through innovative, modular and hybrid international co-productions.

As a step towards long-term cooperation and business model, the project will involve 8 transdisciplinary organizations from Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the development of an international co-production focused on contemporary play.

The co-production will combine contemporary dance with new technologies, theatre, performance art, puppetry, architecture and urban design, tourism and regional development, creating a modular performance that will be available as live, VR or hybrid performance. The production will be jointly developed through 10 workshops of cooperation with local communities in 5 cities (Trbovlje, Velenje, Svetvinčenat, Belgrade, Sarajevo), including over 50 international artists and 11,000 local creatives, artisans, businesses and individuals, using local resources. The developed co-production will be performed live in 5 locations, while the VR experience will tour 10 more cities in the Danube region, directly involving over 6,200 spectators in contemporary dance.

The project fits perfectly into the Creative Europe programme, emphasizing cultural diversity, economic potential and innovation in the cultural and creative sectors. Essentially, the project aims to create an international alliance for the development of the contemporary dance scene in the region, promoting sustainability and encouraging international collaborations across disciplines.
